Hosted by Nathan Kolar from “Skateboarding is Positive”, these sessions are all about participants safely trying skateboarding for the first time, and going through the beginner stages in a fun and inclusive setting. We will be Incorporating balance, flexibility, and precise movements into each session, developing the physical skills needed to skateboard.

The duration of the lessons are for the Fall season. The days and times are Fridays (7:15pm) and Sundays (4:45pm) from October 1st-December 5th, for one hour. There is a maximum of 6 participants per lesson time. So, the first session is Friday October 5th at 7:15pm, and the final session is Sunday December 5th at 4:45pm.

The group lessons will be hosted at the Burlington (Mapleview Mall) location in their #Decadium. All registration and payments are through the Decathlon website (activities.decathlon.ca).

Instructions for those who register: meet in front of the Decadium. Bring a water bottle and please wear clothing you can move freely in. Further, please bring your own helmet and pads (knee, elbow, and/or wrist pads). Skateboards can be provided by Decathlon for the duration of the class if needed.

After completing +200 one-on-one lessons, Skateboarding is Positive (S.I.P) now hosts group events in the form of community gatherings. These events include a group skateboarding activities, photographers, and giveaways!

The events are meant to introduce beginners to skateboarding and create a safe experience for them to do so. The frequency of these events is once/month during the months of May, June, July, August, and September, for about one hour each time. The location for the events so far have been hosted from the Waterdown Skatepark at Memorial Park in Waterdown, Ontario.

Our events are open to all gender identities and generally cater to the age group of 4-12 years of age. Please send all inquires to contact@skateboardingispositive.com for individuals requiring physical accomodations for their introduction to skateboarding!

Participants are to provide their own skateboards and protective equipment (helmets are mandatory).
